John Eric Yezerski, DMD, recently completed his Certification examinations and is now a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. The Mission of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry is to verify to the public and health professions that a pediatric dentist has successfully completed both an advanced educational program accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation and a voluntary examination process designed to validate the knowledge, application, and performance requisite to the delivery of proficient care in pediatric dentistry. The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry is the only certifying Board recognized by the American Dental Association for the specialty of pediatric dentistry. _____________________________________________________ Franklin Pediatric Dentistry Cubs This summer Franklin Pediatric Dentistry sponsored 3 baseball teams with Franklin Baseball Club at Jim Warren Park. Dr. Yezerski's favorite major league baseball team is the Chicago Cubs, so it was only right to name his sponsored teams the Cubs also. When attending a few games, Dr. Yezerski gave all the team players a goodie bag full of a toothbrush, floss, a sticker and a few prizes. After one of the team's game, the above picture was taken of the team, Dr. Yezerski and the game winning ball signed by all of the players. _____________________________________________________ Become a fan of Franklin Pediatric Dentistry Franklin Pediatric Dentistry is now on Facebook! When our patients have a cavity-free visit or successfully finish treatment, they can sign the No Cavity Club chalkboard wall! Our first No Cavity Club member was Connor Yezerski who had a successful visit with no tears and no cavities! _____________________________________________________ Toothprints® Now Available Toothprints® was developed by a pediatric dentist who began using dental bite impressions as a way of safeguarding his own child, and other young patients. The thermoplastic wafer records the size and shape of a child's teeth, the tooth position within the arch, and the relationship between upper and lower jaws. Like fingerprints, dental imprints are unique to every person, so bite impressions serve an accurate method of identification--not even identical twins have the same bite characteristics. A Toothprints® impression also captures saliva, which is a powerful source of human scent, thus making the wafer effective for scent-dog tracking. The saliva also provides a DNA sample. The dentist will soften the patented thermoplastic wafer in a water bath, and instruct your child to "open big, big like a lion then bite down tight while I count to 10." It's that simple. Parents keep the Toothprints® disc at home in a reclosable bag (provided), for confidentiality and quick access.
